Why Hannah Montana changed her name to Miley Cyrus

Aug 11, 2010

Popular Disney star and recording artist Hannah Montana’s real name is Destiny Hope Cyrus, but in 2008 at age 15 she filed papers to have her name officially changed to Miley Ray Cyrus.

Her father, fellow singer and actor Billy Ray Cyrus, and her mother Tish are said to have named her Destiny Hope because they believed she would accomplish great things with her life.

And they gave her the nickname ‘Smiley’ because she smiled so much as a child.

Her name was later shortened to ‘Miley’ Hope Cyrus and eventually changed to ‘Miley Ray’ Cyrus because of her deep love for her paternal grandfather, Democratic politician Ronald Ray Cyrus.

On a personal note this caught my eye because my father’s name was Donald Ray. I loved him dearly, and my grandfather’s name was Ernest Ray.

But as a Numerologist, I found it even more interesting.

Partly because my job involves helping people ‘consciously’ change their names with the help of Numerology.

And partly because Miley has already proven that her parents’ premonitions were right on.

She is definitely here to make a difference.

At the end of 2009 Billboard magazine ranked her as the 4th best-selling female artist in the world, and the 5th best-selling singer overall.

And Forbes reported that her earnings now total over $25 million. Which just may qualify her as the wealthiest teenager in the world.

So learning what Numerology has to say about the effects of Miley’s name change is fascinating for sure.

For starters, it’s important to know that her Life Path number is a 1. This number comes from her birth date and means that her central life mission is to be an independent leader and a pioneer, often going where ‘no man has gone before’.

And ironically, her birth name ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ gives her a 1 Expression. Another 1 in a key position, which more than underlines her ability to be a front-runner, a courageous warrior, and a risk-taker.

Many inventors, self-made millionaires, spiritual leaders, activists, avant-garde artists, and top politicians are born with a 1 Expression. Which could possibly explain her extremely close relationship with her politically-inclined grandfather.

It’s also important to know that Miley’s Heart’s Desire number is 6, which means nothing in the world really means more to her than heart-centered relationships and being loving and kind to others.

Especially the needy ones among us — people and animals in serious need of help.

So when I tell you that her new name ‘Miley Cyrus’ is a 6, it’s easy to understand how this name brings her ‘6 traits’ closer to the surface, making her even MORE loving and kind to others.

In light of all this, the more I learn about Miley, the more I want to know.

And here’s the biggest reason why.

At just 17 years old Miley is already an accomplished philanthropist who has founded a powerful online community for young people who want to change the world.

Nancy's clientele now includes CEOs of major corporations, movie stars, artists, authors, producers, recording artists, spiritual teachers, and professionals from all walks of life. Ironically, some of her favorite clients have been parents of gifted children who sought her guidance in becoming great mentors to their kids. 'Numerology is a shortcut to discovering our ‘Sacred Contract' in this life', she explained. 'It's so much fun to watch kids' eyes light up when I tell them about their special gifts. The more ‘gifted' they are, in fact, the more they seem to love Numerology. Just like adults! I've noticed the ones at the top are usually the most interested. They've always thought ‘out of the box' - that's what got them up there in the first place.' Widely known as 'The Matchmaker', Nancy also has a deep passion for connecting people with their soulmates for the Greater Good, both personally and professionally.
