We are all in the awakening process. This process can start in different ways, like perhaps you were at the bookstore and a certain book just pops out at you or it literally just falls off the shelf in front of you. Maybe a friend gifted you with a book. You start reading it and then you become hungry to read every spiritual book out there. Suddenly, you are feeling 'spiritual' your life is different. You truly feel like you are on a journey. Then, your life starts to fall apart.

What the heck?

You are in the next phase of awakening. You have begun the destructuring phase. Just when you thought you discovered who you are, it all comes crumbling down. And you are left feeling so confused and so alone.

You've talked to all your friends and family about how spiritual you have become and all of a sudden, you lose your job, your health deteriorates, your relationships fall apart, and now you have nothing.

Wow, I can't believe it has been 2 months since I blogged or made a journal entry. I was just reading the last journal entry I did entitled 'Tears in My Heart' and now I understand exactly what has been happening with me these last couple of months.

Changes are definitely taking shape. Many who know me might be surprised to learn that change is actually very difficult for me to embrace. I usually go out of the old and into the new kicking and screaming. What really fascinates me and makes me giggle inside is that the new is always so much better, so why on earth do I always fight to stay in the old?

I believe the answer is that that is what is most comfortable, so taking that step into the unknown is scary. I am working on the trust that needs to be strong during change. In everything else in my life, I have a great deal of trust. I put my trust in the Universe everyday, always inviting it to take control.

I have been blessed with many opportunities for forgiveness. I am an identical twin. Although we have the same DNA, we are very different, indeed. It was, for many years, for me very frustrating trying to understand why there were so many differences in us. I mean we look just alike, we sound just alike, we laugh at the same time, we finish each others sentences, etc. So why was she weaker than me? I say weaker because she chose (unconsciously) to be in abusive relationships.

We have always been very close to each other. There have been very few times in our lives where we have lived away from each other. In 1999, she was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer. I didn't know it at the time, but it would turn out to be one of the biggest forgiveness lessons of my life.

Now, I will be the first to tell you that I am a little slow at learning things that aren't spelled out for me. Prior to her diagnosis, I had already embarked on my path to healing, not just myself, but my desire to help others heal as well. So, when she was diagnosed, I thought this is a great time to get her to listen about healing herself, and making decisions to be strong and healthy. So began the forgiveness lesson. By the way, this is all in retrospect. During the time all this was taking place, I was still figuring it out myself.

Turns out,she didn't want to listen to me. She chose to do it her way. It was a very difficult road she chose. I was still really struggling with why! Why would she chose that path when there was a better one over here? I had learned that our thought process is so much more powerful than we realize and just by changing our thoughts we can open up our hearts and our minds to endless opportunities. Why didn't she want to hear about that?

Do you believe in hell? I said for many years that I did not believe in hell. I never believed that our all loving God would not accept me into heaven if I was not perfect. That was an issue that really bothered me growing up. So, if that was my strong belief then there could not be a hell.

We grew up going to Baptist church. Now, I am not knocking church because if that is where you find peace, that is a good thing. But the teachings I was getting there never resenated with me.

I started looking into this heaven and hell thing a little closer. Heaven to me is being in a place that is so beautiful, loving, and free. For me, I will call it with God; being back home with God.

Ok, then what is this place I am in right now? I believe that this illusion with which I exist as a spiritual being having a human experience, is hell. I am hear to learn how to return home.
Ok, so what I have been learning is that we create our own illusion and I get that. But, when you start looking at your life and the events that have transpired throughout, you have to wonder, 'what the hell was I thinking?'

For instance, I have been married twice. Now, my first marriage was not bad really, it ended in all truth, because I got very depressed. My mother passed away suddenly and I gave birth to my second son 11 days later. I was spiraling down a path that would eventually lead to my journey to self.

But still, what the hell was I thinking, he is an alcoholic, my second husband was loaded with addictions. My own father was not an abuser of alcohol, so why did I choose these men? I had a wonderful role model in my father for husband material.

I have questioned my choices in life alot and found that in doing that I was actually keeping them close and allowing them to control my life. I was questioning but I wasn't open to hearing the answers.

The thing is, the past is the past. You can't undo it, so figure out what inspired you to make those choices and as soon as they rear their ugly heads, destroy them. Let them know that they are no longer in control. You are in control.

Up until that time I was always slender, often times, very thin. It is interesting to me now how when growing up, I never gave much thought to my body. I can look at pictures of myself from when I was in my early twenties to even my late thirties and go damn...I was pretty hot! But that wasnt something that I ever thought about at that time. Well, what happened? I discovered exactly what happened and when. See I used to blame it on menopause. Now menopause is a real thing, or is it?nbsp

I discovered exactly what happened and when. See I used to blame it on menopause. Now menopause is a real thing, or is it? I believe that along with everything else in our lives, we believe these things because that is what we heard somewhere and we take it on as our own truth so we don't have to really look at the truth. But the truth is, we have complete control of our bodies. I have proven this to myself.

I have studied and practiced a technique called 'Emotional Freedom Technique' or EFT. The theory is that when you have events in your life that effect you in an emotional way, usually a negative emotion, you create a block in the bodies flow of energy. Your body will absolutely respond to that.
