In Honor of 09/09/09: Highlighting the Work of Frank McKinney
Since '9' is the number of the humanitarian, on this auspicious day of Sept. 9th, 2009, I'd like to thank all the amazing people who are actively making a positive difference in the lives of others all over the world.
Today I'd like to honor Frank McKinney, one of the greatest -- and most colorful -- humanitarians I've ever had the pleasure of learning about, and I'll start by telling you this.
Frank is a fellow Floridian and my friends affectionately call him the 'real estate rock star'. He's gotten famous for building multi-million dollar estates in Palm Beach, and now he's using the profits to help fund his foundation in Haiti. (Kind of like 'a modern day Robin Hood', they say.)
In Frank's own words, The Caring House Project Foundation is his 'highest calling' -- it feeds 15,000 people a day, supports an orphanage, and builds villages for families in the poorest sections of the island.
The more I hear about this project, the more excited I get.
