I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Byron Katie, one of my favorite people alive on this planet today!
Byron Katie is an American speaker and author who teaches a profound method of self-inquiry known as ‘The Work of Byron Katie’ or simply ‘The Work.’
Born on Dec. 6, 1942 as Byron Kathleen Reid, she is on a 16/7 Life Path, one of the most challenging and potentially rewarding life paths imaginable.
I first met ‘Katie’ (as we call her) over 12 years ago and had the delightful privilege of being a guest in her home on two occasions. She is an amazing example of a 16/7 Life Path well-lived and it gives me great pleasure to honor her today.
Being on a 16/7 Life Path isn’t the easiest thing in the world — as anyone on it can attest — but it certainly carries with it an enhanced opportunity to be of major service to the world.
Those born on this Life Path are ‘searchers and seekers of the truth’ and often have a clear sense of themselves as spiritual beings. As a result, they tend to be intensely fascinated with ‘the unknown’ and finding answers to life’s mysteries.
According to my longtime Numerology mentor Hans Decoz, who is on a 16/7 Life Path himself, ‘the 16 means destruction of the old and birth of the new. It is about the fall of the ego and all that it has built for itself, a cleansing. All that has been constructed, and all that serves to separate the person from the source of life is destroyed. Through the 16, reunion with the Great Spirit is accomplished.’
Hans goes on to say: ‘This can be a painful process because it usually comes after much ego inflation. This results in a struggle between the ego and the divine will. Life presents challenges to your grand plans, which can be resented and struggled against.
It is a lost battle, and you will likely feel humbled in the face of the collapse that follows. This humility is the key to later success, however, because you will learn to follow the intimations of a higher reality. In the destruction of the old, a spiritual rebirth takes place with an entirely new awareness. This rebirth affects every area of your life. It is a life much the better for the fall.’
Those who are aware of Katie’s fascinating life story will no doubt see the truth in this! Simply put, her life went from complete collapse to becoming the beloved celebrity she is today.
