Have you ever been so happy about something that you couldn't sit still?
Or, so joyous that you sang out loud before remembering there were other people around? I'm sure it's happened to each of us at one time or another.
I have a confession - it happens to me more than most.
Whenever I feel excited about the things I'm doing I get a spike in energy that makes me me want to move about. I feel this energy is the vibration of joy itself. I find I can't sit still, but have to get up and skip, or dance, or throw my arms up in the air and scream, 'Yay!' Anything to release the pressure of the energy inside.
I also make up little songs when I'm happy.
I have rhyming button in my head that gets tripped sometimes and out come these little jingles:
Little by little, a...

Do you know someone who constantly sees only the negative things in life?
If it rains outside its not just raining it's, 'absolutely miserable outside.'
Or, every story on the evening news triggers the, 'People are more rotten than ever. Our world is doomed,' response?
And worse still, even if something good were to happen, such as winning the lottery, the Sky is Falling types cannot control their impulse to tack on the, 'Yeah, but now I have to deal with all these financial planners hounding me!' retort.
Individuals like these have gotten into what is referred to as a negative feedback loop, and truly cannot help themselves. They've programmed themselves by repeating negative thoughts to the point where they have literally carved a neural pathway in the brain with these habitu

Do you have ' spirit guides?' Do you know who they are? And, why you have them?
We all have spirit guides, whether we know it or not.
Our guides are here to help us navigate the physical world and learn the lessons we incarnated to learn.
Here's an example of 'lesson' I had recently with one of my guides:
While in a deep meditation I was visited by Ben, my native American guide.
He pulled me up onto his beautiful white stallion.
We rode bareback galloping through the desert past the red hills of New Mexico.
Ben said, 'I'm here to teach you to follow the signs just as an Indian guide would.'
He stopped and we got off the horse. He showed me how to read the 'signs' by looking closely at the way pebbles were scattered, and cactus leaves were broken.
He said I was to bring this knowledge back and ...

Physicists are revealing that what we perceive as reality may not be what we think.
We may think we are our bodies and our minds, but we would be wrong according to many new findings in science.
Each of us is actually individual states of consciousness that exists within one unified field - the field of consciousness.
I've been thinking a lot about consciousness and reality since I wrote my last post - Constant Craving: The Mystic Experience, and wondering why our perception of the world changes when we have a mystical experience?
Many of you commented that you'd had a mystical experience and felt during it a connection to and love for all of life. As I said in that post, when we have these momentary connections to all life we're actually plugging-in to the over-arching reality that our narrow every day reality...

Serendipity
Some years back I read a book about a young woman who let her intuition lead her in every decision she made.
The book had a huge impression on me and changed my life. (Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it or the author.)
This young woman followed her inner promptings in every single decision she made. Listening to her intuition resulted in a series of serendipitous events; she went back to school, then moved out of state, met her perfect soul mate, and ended up working for the Edgar Cayce Foundation in Virginia Beach - in her dream job.
I remember thinking as I read, why doesn't my life flow like that?
After I finished the book, I knew exactly why my life never flowed like hers. This young woman let her gut guide her - I never had. I was always too scared of making a mistake, instead I played it safe and dismiss...

Living life in the fast lane?
Does life seem to be flying by at a frenetic pace? When you take time off work are you expected to respond to emails from your boss or customers on your BlackBerry?
Or, are you a multi-tasker that texts and tweets and has to have the iPhone pried out of her hands in order to take a break? Have you tried meditating, but gave up because your mind wouldn't stop racing?
If so, you're not alone. A lot of people tell me that they can't meditate. With the pace of life today, and the multitude of distracting devices we've all become addicted to, it's no wonder that most of us have no idea how to slow down and focus on one thing at a time.
Slow down
For most people the idea of slowing down would be counter-intuitive when they have so much on their plates' already, but slowing down does...

Meditation is the most valuable tool I've found for spiritual development.
Reading books is great, as is joining groups of like minded individuals, but when it comes to actually making consistent progress with our spiritual growth only a daily practice of meditation will expand your consciousness.
Awakening and changing is a slow process that takes place gradually.
Meditating daily is a bit like the process of water flowing over rocks in a stream; eventually with enough time you'll see that the water has reshaped the stream and smoothed out all the jagged edges in the rocks.
Making meditation a daily habit
It takes commitment and a deep desire to stay the course until the beginnings of that reshaping becomes apparent. And of course - you're never done either just like the water flowing in that stream is never finished reshaping it or...

Damn! Why can't I ever stop thinking?
This was my mantra at 7 am as I tried in vain to meditate.
Some days I'm able to get deep into the zone of a meditation where my thoughts slow and then stop for a while. These are the best meditations. I'm detached but present in the flow of Universal Mind. I feel a clarity and a sense that all is well - just the way things are. Perfectly imperfect.
I am aware of a connection to all life which gently gives way to a quiet joy. I ride the waves of this Universal flow as long as I can before thoughts get the better of me again. I take the quiet joy with me out into my day and go about my business.
Today I could not surf that wave. It was just one big thought after another knocking me off my spiritual surf board until I got tired of trying to cli...

Since my father passed away in September I've gotten into the habit of having a conversation with him each night before I go to sleep. After keeping him up to date on what's going on in the family, I usually end by asking the same thing, 'Show me what it was like to cross over. I want to see what you saw and feel what you experienced.'
The evening of my father's death a dear friend and fellow medium, Andrea Attack, had spoken to my father and he told her that his crossing over had been a 'fantastic ride.' Once I heard that - and that he was doing fine, among other messages, I was so relieved, but I wanted to know more about what he'd experienced. So, ever since I've been asking him, if possible, please show me.
This one night I had my usual conversation with my father and closed by asking him to show me what it was like to cross over. I then said g...

Today, I have an article on the contributors section of Token Rock about how to program your dreams to get answers. I've always had extremely vivid dreams since I was a child, many of which predicted the future. But, what I've learned through the years that mining my dreams for answers to the current challenges and situations I need to deal with is much more useful than knowing the future. Especially since all decisions we make now - affect the future outcome.
I want to share a dream I had this morning that illustrates this point perfectly.
I dreamed that I was in my car following behind one of my friends. She was leading me out of a large, but empty, parking lot through a special cut-through to the highway I wasn't aware existed. Apparently, this short-cut went right to her house. As I went to make the turn into this cut-through my car did not one, but two complete donuts...
