Better Days Ahead
Fear of the unknown leads to stress that leads to health problems, relationship difficulties, depression, and unhappiness. But it doesn't have to be so.
I have mentioned this in the past, but being an observer allows us to realize that what may be happening is only happening around us and not to us.
Lost your job? Don't view it as a loss but a new beginning. You aren't unemployed, you are self-employed. Move away from the idea that you must count on a superior for your livelihood. Consider that you are your own boss. Always have been. Always will be.
Is your relationship suffering from financial stress? Not uncommon at all. Finance is one of the primary causes of relationship disputes. What really matters in your life? The answer to that question is most often not money. Yes, financial security is important to most people, but it certainly doesn't come at the top of the list in most cases. Health, family, love, freedom, and happiness, these are the things that life is really made of. Stop for a moment and find gratefulness for your health. Think about those who you love and appreciate what happiness that gives you.
Experiencing a health concern? Rather than focusing on how that concern limits you or a negative outcome that could come from it, instead focus on how you, yourself, can fight back against it. Maybe even overcome it. What may have caused it? Consider that it might not be simply a physical reality. Consider that possibly there are ways to resolve it that don't involve conventional medicine. By all means get multiple opinions. Take action using a variety of approaches. You may be surprised as to what the solution is. Western culture has lost sight of how we, ourselves, can contribute to our own healing. Healing is not about popping pills and going under the knife. Though there may be times this may be unavoidable to help resolve the issue it, in large part, comes down to our own attitude, intuition, focus, motivation, and beliefs. Healing requires a comprehensive approach.
Believe in yourself. Find clarity in what is important and move to achieve a resolution with confidence in yourself to be able to do so.
Then, find time to get away for a day. It doesn't have to cost much. Take a drive, go on a hike, or take a picnic under a shade tree. Listen to the beautiful birds singing that surround you. Find peace in nature's music. Spend quality time with yourself. Then take time with your loved ones.
This is precisely what I did just the other day. On short order, I decided to take Carrie and my boys on an amazing adventure day road trip to this beautiful waterfall (inset) and in the process we were all refreshed with an experience that nobody will soon forget.
As my friend and step-father always said to me in tough times growing up... 'This too will pass. Better days ahead.'
