'Allow your soul to steep. In so doing, the aroma of alternative solutions emerge & infinite options will brew.'

I wrote this on my Facebook wall after surrendering a great deal of frustration over a few creative snafus.

When I get stuck, I try to move myself out of context - put myself in other landscapes. Doing this led me to the concept of 'soul steeping.'

I saw myself as a tea bag slumped and sagging at the bottom of a cup. I wasn't very attractive looking, a soggy brown heap of inconclusivity. But the heat of the added water really enticed my perspective.

I was still a nondescript, boggy tea bag, but the boil created an emanation from me...tendrils of flavor emitted from my cheesecloth skin. Sleek, dark aromas began to surface from that teacup-pit.

I fancy our creative potential is much the same way. Potential is an unseen aspect. Or, perhaps it can be seen but like a slopped-over tea bag, maybe the strength, flavor and value has gone unrecognized.

What's my point with all this?

I suppose I'm saying your potential is inherent, indwelling, ever-ready and ever-bright.

Just by being you, you are aromatic and bursting with phenomenal flavor. Take rest in that. Allow that knowledge to simmer within the innermost depths of you.

In time, the heat of life will press against you. Experience will warm you. Inspiration will ignite you.

And when this happens, allow your soul to steep naturally and observe the elegant solutions emerging. Allow your intoxicating richness to flow from you easily.
