Sarica Cernohous, L.Ac, has had a lifelong interest in healing and nutrition. As a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture since 2001, she has been able to use these interests in the pursuit of helping others learn to better care for themselves through natural medicine, diet and healthy lifestyle practices.
Early on, Sarica was part of her family's residential care businesses, where she saw the positive effect of home-cooked meals and loving care in the lives of the elderly residents in her family's charge. This, coupled with family roots steeped in the Southern tradition of rich, hand-crafted foods, helped to shape her appreciation of the power of a heartfelt hug or a big bowl of chicken and dumplings.
True to form and now with a family of her own, Sarica has found her time in the kitchen to be an expression of love and creativity. Whether it's making fresh kefir with local, raw goat milk, cooking up pancakes to top them with seasonal fruits and organic, clarified butter, creating a frittata with field greens, onions and homemade chevre, or building a big, verdant salad with homegrown sprouts, garlic and olive oil dressing, Sarica loves cooking and preparing food. And she sees that all her pursuits in the kitchen are tools to share with her Acupuncture patients, to help people further enhance their health well-beyond the Acupuncture treatment.
With a master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine, combined with continued study of nutrition from both the Western and Eastern perspectives, Sarica has come to understand the importance of eating whole foods in season, locally and organically grown when possible. Through the use of Acupuncture, Chinese Herbs and nutrition she has helped many find greater vitality, improved functioning and more mental clarity.
