Shift Your Perception and Improve Your Day!

By: Carrie-Anne D'Angelo
View Profile Let's discuss how changing your mind can change your life.

For the last few years we have been bombarded with the notions of continued terrorist attacks, global warming, a failing economy that is quoted as being, 'worse than the Great Depression' and the most recent so-called 'crisis'—the Swine Flu, among many other topics focusing on doom and gloom.

By accepting these perceived ideas (as real as they may seem) we project them into our reality. They fill our minds with fear, despair, judgment, sickness, lack and loss. What we believe is then taught and projected. It is passed on to our children, extended family, and friends, creating a collective epidemic based on false perceptions.

So how do we change this?

Consider the possibility that you are responsible for all the good and bad you perceive in your life and the world around you. Yes, that is a hard one to accept indeed. Many of you will find yourselves struggling with this idea and that's OK.

We have all grown accustomed to our egos guiding us and keeping us safe through judgment within our own discombobulated ideals. Nonetheless, within these boundaries that we have set for ourselves through ego, we have also allowed for the same methods of perception to realize our true divinity, thus giving ourselves the perfect opportunity for forgiveness. That is, the forgiveness for our perceptions!

As quoted from the book, The Disappearance of the Universe: 'You don't have to change anybody's mind and you don't have to change your world. All you have to do is change your mind about the world. For example, don't worry about world peace. The best way for you to help bring world peace is to practice forgiveness yourself, and share the experience with other people. When people of the world finally seek real inner peace by understanding and correctly applying the law of forgiveness, then the seemingly outer peace must follow.'

Rest assured, no matter what type of illusions you're currently projecting, you are—and have always been—completely whole and divine. You're just in the process of remembering so.

Here are a few steps to start the process:

Take the time each day to practice a shift in perception; there will be plenty of opportunities presented to give this a try.

1. Throughout the day take a few quiet moments to allow any and all thought to enter your mind. Acknowledge and give thanks for those thoughts you associate with love.

2. Be alert to the thoughts you associate with feelings of concern, fear, jealously, lack, anxiety, hurt, loss, judgment, or anger. Acknowledge those thoughts as well.

3. Examine these thoughts that bring about negative feelings and see how they are directly related to your personal projection of Self and the world around you. In other words, what is the mirror (your world) reflecting back at you about yourself?

For example, are you having problems with a co-worker, a child, or your spouse? Whatever issue you may be facing, see how the interaction or comments exchanged are a direct reflection of what you're feeling inside. Discomfort is the perfect opportunity to see exactly what you need to release.

4. Now tell yourself, this is not who I truly am. I am perfect, equal, and whole, for I am part of the divine and all its expressions. This is a time to clear out the perceptions of negative emotions and fill this space with forgiveness and love.

Remind yourself, whenever possible, that all people are of equal value and a direct reflection of Self. The quote, 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.' captures the essence of this idea.

5. Forgive the projection of images and release them to Source for you are forgiving only illusions that do not exist. Once you allow yourself to truly release these ideas of attack and fear, the ego can no longer reign over your mind. Fear will be replaced with divine love and peace.

These steps above are bound to create some discomfort. Change in itself may be scary to some. Slowly, as you begin to apply these ideas and shift your thoughts, you will begin to see a transformation take place. It will take diligence and continuous effort on your part. Once you begin to let your true essence shine through you will understand the separation that you created within yourself and will want nothing more than to remember your wholeness.

'Fear binds the world. Forgiveness sets it free.'
